This is the most elaborate wooden train display in our collection—a full narrow-gauge 2-6-0 steam engine with tender, log car, and caboose. Measuring approximately 36 inches in length, it captures the charm and scale of America’s mountain railroads in a four-car hardwood presentation.
Each train begins with archival images and mechanical drawings, then transitions to CAD sketches and precise milling. Every car—engine, tender, log car, and caboose—is carved and assembled by hand from a mix of premium woods, chosen for grain and contrast. The entire train is mounted to a hardwood base with track and ties.
The finish is pure: mineral oil only, air-dried for a rich, matte appearance. No varnishes. No shortcuts. The tender includes a personalized engraving (e.g., “Denver & Rio Grande”), making this an heirloom-quality display with legacy appeal.
