A handcrafted wooden engine with engraved tender, honoring America’s steam era.
Inspired by the iconic 2-6-0 steam locomotives of the early 1900s, this handcrafted wooden display captures the enduring spirit of American rail. At approximately 24.5 inches long and 6 inches tall, it features a meticulously shaped engine and engraved tender car, mounted to a hardwood rail track for secure presentation.
Each display begins with historic mechanical drawings or archive photos, then transitions to hand-drawn CAD layouts before being translated into wood. Every piece—engine, tender, rails, and ties—is cut from selected domestic and exotic hardwoods, then sanded, assembled, and soaked in food-safe mineral oil. No varnishes or synthetic finishes are used. The final piece is open-air dried to develop a natural, refined appearance.
The tender car is engraved with a personalized inscription—such as “Miller Family Railroad”—making it a meaningful heirloom or commemorative gift.
This display is not a toy. It is a delicate, static presentation piece designed to live on a mantel, desk, or collector’s cabinet with quiet dignity.
Please note: We retain artistic license over the scale, detailing, and wood selection of all train pieces. Each is handcrafted and may vary slightly from shown examples.
